Is there any way to do it that doesn't require me to give iTunes a new valid credit card & address from the other country?

There are some songs I'd like which are only available in the UK iTunes Store, and I really would like to buy them...but am clearly not in the UK.

Is there any workaround? Or is this just one of those iTunes impossibilities?

You could get a gift certificate from another country and use it for that country.

It works, or should, anyway.

If you can get a code for some free tunes you are allowed to make an account without a credit card. Unfortunately for that method you can only get your free songs, and the free songs of the week.
