Buying Mac Book SEcond Hand

Planning to buy a second hand mac book pro- what are the policies of things such as: getting it checked up at mac? or warranty issues or? figureing out who's the owner of the mac? can someone help me out. should I buy it used or new? i'd be saving alot more money buying it used.

The warranty is tied to the serial number, not the owner...so in that sense it's transferrable. As long as you see pics or the MBP in person and it's not all beat to hell, then go for it. I got mine used...

try to get a copy of the original sales receipt so you have documentation of when it was purchased

If its 75% of the retail price or less its a scam.

sweet cha'll- thanks for the info. what about this whistling noise coming from the mbp? can we send the laptop to apple to get it fixed if thats something might occur?
