So I am trying to decide what GHz (2.1 or 2.4), GB (2 or 4) and a hard drive (160 or 250 GB). I like to do a lot of word processing, but am also a huge Sims 2 fan. I have all the expansion packs and a ton of custom content and would dearly love to play it on a mac. (i'm a 1st time mac user.) Also, i can't decide if i want to play Sims 2 with boot camp, since my game is pc version, or invest in Parellel of Vmware. Any pointers?

The sims for mac isn't as well optimized as it is for the PC. Even on my Mac Pro, it would stutter in slightly intense tasks. In boot Camp, it runs 3 times better. It would probably be unplayable in OSX on a MacBook, but playable in Boot Camp.

Also, from reading your posts, you already have all the expansions for the PC?

Yeah, i have all the expanisons for PC except for bon voyage and Free Time, which should be arriving any day now.
What is the "ahem alternate method" you mentioned in your thread?
I'll be sure to try all that out once i get my macbook.

Well, if you already have all the PC games, and have BV and FT on the way, then you don't need the alternative method.
