Hi all

I am currently looking for the best way to shop for (actually, to ask my friend to do it) a 17" 1920x1200 MBP near Palo Alto.

Apple sales and returns policy says that customized products can only be returned when "dead on arrival". Which means that when I select high-resolution screen option in apple.com online shop, this automatically waives my 14 days return right. Is it so? The only remaining protection would be the warranty - which is not going to work with, say, 6 dead pixels on the screen.

I would even agree to risk 10% restocking fee.

How do you think, if a physical Apple store has such 1920x1200 glossly model in stock and we buy it and decide to return within 14 days, would this be permitted?

But Apple Stores don't carry MBP 17'' Highres Glossy, only matte with the 7200rpm HD, I got mine last week at Houston Galleria and I decided to get the glossy over the High Res, the glossy screen IMHO is so much better, of course the ideal thing would be High res with glossy but that couldnt be done.
