Can you get the education discount while shopping at a mac outlet store?

Does anyone know where I can find spec sheets that would show how much faster the 2.16 with 256mb video card is over the 2.0 with 128mb video card?

The price difference is $500 for .16 more cpu & 128 on the video card.

I have a 2.0 duo iMac right now with 2gigs & the 256 card. I'm upgrading laptops so I can edit video while on the road. How much of a performance hit am I going to take from not getting the 2.16 & 256 card?

I'm running Final Cut Studio.

I'll end up putting 3rd party ram to make it 2gb.

You could buy a refurbished MacBook Pro from the Apple site. THe 2.0ghz with 256VRAM is 1900 bucks. Seems like a great deal to me.
