Buying New IPhone

Im about to buy a new Iphone, adding it onto my daughter's family talk share plan, it will be phone #5.

2 Questions:

1. Can I go anywhere to get the phone, or does it have to be ATT online or ATT Store? How about Best Buy or a non company store?

2. If i can go anywhere, then where to you guys think i would have the best chance of getting a phone with 3.1.2 for 5.11bootrom. Im in the DFW area. I was thinking the smaller or out of the way location the better. Your thoughts...

My guess would be best buy but you never know.
I think Apple Stores and AT&T stores would sell more iphones than best buy and Walmarts thus chances are you would get the 3.1.2 firmware or older on those.
But its just a guess, the longer you take the worst it is though.

I agree with this. Walmart and Best Buy would be your best bet. You could also check out refurbs from Apple or buying from eBay/Craigslist.
