I've had my MBP for 2 months now. When I plug the magsafe, it somehow produce a buzz sound, it's not loud but somewhat annoying.

Do anyone have this issue with your MBP and Magsafe?

Are you using the three prong cable to plug it in? Give that a whirl if you have not already. It is most likely a floating ground. Do you have anything else connected, such as speakers, or anything else then plugs into an outlet?:)

I bought my MBP in Vancouver and I'm in Taiwan now.
They share the same number of prong plug and same voltage.

My MBP has no whine at all...

the nizzle sound disappear as long as I unplug the magsafe....

It's not very notcible, just somewhat annoying

It is most likely a floating ground. Try to find a cord that has the third earth prong, that will most likely resolve the issue.:)

Does this sound you are describing sound like a very faint sizzling noise? I had it on all 3 MBP C2D that I recently went through. However, it is so faint that you can only hear it when pressing your ear close to the top left of the keyboard where the MagSafe is being plugged into. It only occurs when the power adapter is plugged in and really isn't an issue.

I have a slight buzz, but it's there whether or not the magsafe is plugged in. It's coming from the top right part of the keyboard. It's pretty quiet, but a little distracting. I just got this computer today and everything else seems OK, so I'm not sure if it's worth bothering with Apple. I might go back to the Apple Store and see if they all have this sound.

Here is a video of the sound.

It sounds much louder in this video than it does to the human ear.

Update: I downloaded smcFanControl and figured out that the buzz is Fan 2.

Sooooo, is my fan abnormaly loud? Or do they all sound like this?

BTW, I'm on a 2.33 MacBook Pro with a 160GB HD. Guess I should have mentioned that!
