I have just downloaded the uStream app and I want to watch the inauguration here at school but I only have a 3G connection. Is there anyway to bypass the Wi-Fi requirement? I have a Jailbroken 3G 16GB.

try that the people say its supposed to work with any app by tricking your phone to thinking its always on wifi
Thanks for your post. Like I said I am at school so I can not SSH in to my phone is there anyway to do this on the phone?
isnt there an app in cydia that makes programs think your 3G signal is wifi?

.... So try this and let me know if it helps.
Look for MobileFinder in Cydia repo and install it.
Again look for gtextedit and install it.
Open gtxtedit and hit open and type in the path that I have mentioned.
\Library\MobileDevice\MobileSubstrate\VOIPOver3G.plist
make sure you search online for the spellings for the path. They are case sensitive.
This will open the plist file. there you can add "tv.ustream.player" and then save it. Once you save it make sure you use MobileFinder to check the permissions of the plist file (Before and after should be same for permissions).
I'm not sure if editing the plist file would change the permissions but just check to make sure they are same.
Restart the phone and Ustream should work.

Where does he live, America? Yeah, they don't care. My local high school wouldn't recognize President's day or Martin Luther King, Jr. day as holidays.
Classes proceeded as normal during 9/11, as well. We saw nothing, we heard nothing, until we got home.
Are you kidding? 9/11 my engineering class came to a standstill, as we got updates by people with cell phones every few mins. Some had internet, others just called someone and got updates which they relayed to us.
Today at work(I'm off today), we're having red white blue cake for everyone...it's a Walmart. We even setup a tv so people can watch live in the breakroom.
Wow... I must have had exceptional schools. This is history and should have been in ever classroom and cafeteria!

basically it seems Ustream only wants to see that you have WiFi connection upon Launch. if there's another way to fool it then you should be able to stream over 3G...
