100 mm lense? You were probably standing quite far away, weren't you. ;)

Great detail, though. Must have been great lighting conditions to get a shot like that at 1/400 seconds and f/6.3.

Behind the lens
I am in the process of taking 3 rolls of flower shots just like that.

most of the shots Im getting with my "zoom lens with macro feature" is

ISO400
1/500
between f4 - f5.6

I havent developed any of them yet, but I would LOVE to get an insect composed like you did, thats very very nicely shot.

how far away were you (front lens glass) from the bee? my typical "macro" shot is about 6-12"
