C&C 3 Tiberium Wars graphic glitch...

I've got a 20" aluminum iMac with the Radeon 2600 and the game runs fine with one exception. When a Nod nuclear missile detonates, the entire screen seems to slow down to a crawl and almost freezes up. Once the explosion goes away, everything returns to normal. Any ideas?

that isn't a graphical glitch, you just have the graphic settings a bit too high for that graphic card (which by no means is a good one)
