C&C Zero Hour rendering problem

I just installed generals deluxe (generals and ZH) on my macbook pro, and have a major bug. When the game loads, everythings fine, but the ground always turns out black. In game all of the vehicles, buildings, trees, etc load but the ground is invisible or black. Im assuming my comp can run it, macbook pro w/ 10.4.11, but maybe its some sort of driver im missing? I really dont know, which is why im here! thanks in advance for any answers.
