is there a C++ and JAVA program for mac, i need it for school and i would rather not boot up windows to install visual studio 2010 if i don't have too

Xcode for C++. It also installs the all the Java dev stuff.

Download it from http://developer.apple.com/mac/ (you need to register).

Once you have that you can install Eclipse or Netbeans depending on your preferred Java IDE.
 
If you don't want to switch between Xcode and some other IDE, you can use Eclipse or Netbeans for both Java and C++ development.
 
Try to use XCode..
It's a pretty good compiler, it might take a while to get used to it..
like i did..:D
