Just upgraded to 2x2gb RAM for my c2d mini. From everything I read, I understood that the system would only address 3.3gb, but opted for the 2x2 configuration so they would run in dual channel mode.

Everything I am seeing from within System Profiler and Activity Monitor is saying 4.0gb. Do I have a full 4.0gb or the 3.3 as I originally thought?

cool

i don't know

but I'm going to upgrade mine to 4GB soon (and mine can only address 3)

Note that you have 1.7GB free. Try to get that below .7 free and you will soon see that it won't address above 3.3GB! :)

I did the same thing with my MBP which is slated to only recognize 3.something out of the 4 gigs installed in matched pairs. It also shows up as 4 gigs installed, but alas, this merely allows me to reap the benefits of having matched pairs vs. installing a 1gig chip and a 2gig chip. I suspect this is the same case you are experiencing.

It's still a boost over the 2 gig factory install, and ram is cheap right now. :)
