I was wondering if anybody who owns C2D Macbook Pro has successfully updated their firmware to 1.2f10. I was about to install Boot Camp on my C2D MBP but found out that the current firmware on it was 1.12f5. Boot Camp manual recommends updating firmware before installation and the Apple site offers 1.2f10 for the MacBook Pro, but I am not sure if that is for the old MBP only. Any thoughts and experiences are appreciated.

Don't be confused. Confirmed this with an Apple Tech Support guy on the phone:

1.2f10 - latest firmware for Core Duos only
1.12f5 - latest firmware for Core 2 Duo

Notice the decimal change from .2 to .12. According to the Apple Tech, this is due to the hardware change.

I hope this helps.
