I was going to buy my dad a 2Ghz C2D Macbook for Christmas, but then I found a leftover 2Ghz CD Macbook pro for $1400, and I am not sure which one to get him. Performance is not an issue because he will only use it for web browsing, email. My dad is in his late fifties and only has okay eyesight.

From what I have read the Macbook has better battery life and does not get as hot as the MBP, but I am not sure about the 13” screen.

Any advice would be helpful, especially from any older users or people that do not have 20/20 eyesight.
Thank you

I would say $1400 CD since you don't need anything expensive and you aren't sure about the 13"

I thought the same thing about the 13 inch, but it really isn't that small in real life.

It's actually really nice. This is coming from someone who used to use 15-4s exclusively.

id say get the mbp. IF he isnt a "poweruser" he wont miss the core 2 and the biggers screen is definatly a plus. Im sure he'll love either one though.
