I know lots of people have successfully upgraded their CD MBP's HD, but has anyone done it on their C2D MBP? I was planning on buying a drive seperately and upgrading it myself to save money (since I'd then have 2 drives instead of 1). But then I saw this which shows a new "noise dampener" permanently attached to the HD. I wonder if that thing is really necessary or if it can be safely removed and attached to the new HD?
If nobody else has had the courage to try an HD upgrade yet, then I will probably play it safe and pay a little extra for a BTO model.
