I have a late 2008 MBP with Core2Duo 2.53gHz, 4GB, Nvidia 9400/9600, OCZ Vertex 2 60GB SSD, and I'm wondering how it would compare with the latest MBAs. On paper, it beats it out of the water. But I keep reading that the new Airs are much better than they are on paper. I use AutoCAD 11, CS5 (InDesign, Lightroom, PS), Office 11, iLife 11 and iWork 09.

Some of the apps you use, especially AutoCAD are quite CPU and GPU intensive I think. In those tasks, MBA would perform slower than your current MBP. In more basic tasks like Office and Photoshop, you shouldn't notice any noticeable difference.

It boils down to what you prefer. A bit more power and upgradeability or portability.
