I was looking at replacing the dead 2nd Generation Nano that I kept in my VW with an iPod Shuffle, but silly me didn't realize they were completely different cables.

My 2012 VW Jetta has a 30-pin connector in the glove box to hook an iPod up to, and I have full control of volume, skip forward & skip back with the steering wheel controls. I know I can get a 30-pin to lightning cable adapter, but is there a 30-pin to 3.5mm cable that I can use that will both charge & allow me control of the shuffle from the steering wheel like I'm used to/want/need, or am I pretty much SOL there, and have to upgrade to another Nano?

I'm still poking around online for answers, but thought I'd throw the question out here, in case someone here has any experience.

Thanks!
