Having just got a new Macbook Air, upgrading from a 2015 MacPro with magsafe, I find the cable situation a bit of a pain in terms of storage. Definitely missing the wrap-around cable management system from the old power brick. What do others do as a solution?

Cheers

For cable management I use velcro ties similar to these:

Naturally these cable ties are useful around the home. I gave a few to family members.

I stick small accessories into bags like these:

The bags I have were purchased in ¥100 shops in Japan. Their wares are far better than American dollar stores.

When traveling abroad I usually pack a 30W GaN USB-C charger, one USB-C to USB-C cable, one USB-C to Lightning Cable, a standard 5W Apple USB-A charger and the standard Apple USB-A to Lightning cable in a two-pocket mesh bag. This kit can charge a Windows ultrabook, iPad mini, and my iPhone on the road albeit not all three simultaneously.

This kit also has a really short (6") power cord that provides three two-prong outlets. This was also purchased in a Japanese 100 yen shop; I have never seen these in the USA.

I toss in a couple of small ziplocks (2" x 3") for storing things like USB thumb drives, SIM cards, SIM ejector tool, paperclips, safety pins, etc.

In addition to the cables that come with the Mac, I also bought many auxiliary cables, such as HDMI and USB C cables from Anker and Larnt. I usually bundle them together with cable ties.

I use velcro cable straps. I think Apple may have gotten rid of this feature not just because the USB-C charge cable is thicker but because it also weakened and eventually destroyed the cords on Magsafe over time. It was a brilliant idea but it seemed to be very hard on the cables.
