But first, you need to assess what connector on the back of the set you want to use. There will usually be some combination of these connectors that will easily accomodate a computer:

HDMI, DVI, VGA (or analog RGB).

If the set has DVI, then the quoted post is the best (and likely cheapest) choice. If the set has HDMI as the digital inputs, then you can do either of these two (in order of preference):

Mini DVI -> DVI to HDMI cable
or
Mini DVI -> DVI cable -> DVI to HDMI adapter.

VGA can still work, but it is nowhere near as good as the above choices and costs about the same.
