Calendar and Google Account

I'm looking ahead to when I move back to Apple. Previously I had my calendar within my iCloud account and I had a couple shared calendars. It was nice when updates to those calendars were pushed as notifications.

What I want to know is if I were to add my Google account to my mac, and include the calendar sync, do I get notifications when changes occur on that calendar?

At the Google Calendar website you can set an email notification for changed events.

At the Google Calendar website you can set an email notification for changed events.

I know that but it's not the same as a push notification that you get from iCloid calendar.
