Calendar & Contacts Integration: links between the two?

When I enter an event in my Calendar that involves people, I want to have a link to Contacts for those people.

And when I am in Contacts and select a person, I want to see links to those events in Calendar which involve that person.

Is it possible to create these kinds of links in Contacts and Calendar?
If not, what apps are my best alternative?
