I am trying to use Calendar to manage work trips as we have a very busy Fall/Winter ahead, and I am struggling with the year view. I finally discovered (under advanced preferences) how to have an event show up in the year view, however, it only indicates the start date of the event not the duration. For example, I have a trip from 9/11 - 9/18 (all-day). In the year view, 9/11 indicates an event, but I was hoping that 9/11 - 9/18 would be highlighted/indicated. BTW, when I click on 9/11, 9/12, 9/13, etc., in the year view, the full event is there. And when I move to month and week, everything is clear.

Question: Is there a way to indicate the entire event (length) in year view in Apple Mac OS Big Sur's Calendar app?

Alt Question: Am I crazy to want this? BTW, Office 365/Outlook doesn't even provide a year view. Google calendar requires extensions and work arounds beyond my comfort level to see events in the year view. Note: I get that a year view with lots of indicated blocks can get tricky. I just find it hard to believe that I am alone in wanting such a birds eye view.

If it helps:
Apple Mac mini (M1, 2020)
8GB Ram
macOS Big Sur (11.4)
Calendar (11.0)

Thanks, everyone for considering the question!
