An undocumented and relatively minor enhancement in the 1.01 patch is that the calendar icon on the home screen now shows the current date.

For something really minor this made me very happy. :)

If it has I haven't noticed it and I apologize for the post. It wouldn't surprise me the way my week is going to have confused the calendar icon in OS X with the one on the iPhone.

:(

The one in OS X shows the current date when the program is running, but not when it is closed.

yeah they really need to make iCal recognize the date even when not initially opened... just looks stupid always having july 17 in the dock... can't imagine that is a difficult or resource-intensive thing to do, right?

Once you've installed iConiCal, how do you go back and change the color of the iCal icon at a later date?

your probably thinking of the weather app because it only shows some dumb number like 72 or something

I wish the weather app button changed with the weather like the calender app does. :(

The last thing I need is for the weather app to tell me that it is 101 outside. I don't need that depressing news within eye sight.
Of course, in retrospect, it will be nice when it is mid January and it tells me it is 78 outside.

How can we do this behavior

Anyone knows how to make my own app icon change as the Calendar's icon even when my App is closed?

Now if you said the weather app showed current temp in the icon. That would be something.
