Calendar notifications makes sound but no vibrations?

I've been using the Fantastical app for calendar, but recently want to switch back to the built-in calendar app. However, I noticed that the event notifications does not vibrate - it shows up and produces a sound, but no vibrations either on my iphone or apple watch. I've checked the settings in both the notification section and the sounds & haptics section, (both sounds and vibrations are set) but does not solve the issue. The vibrations of other apps work as expected. Is this some standing issue with ios 15? Thanks!
