Calendar notifications question

I sync my work calendar to my phone, but use the Outlook app for email. I have turned off the notifications on the work calendar (calendar app) to ensure no duplicate notifications. This works fine on my phone. On my watch, I have set it to mirror my phone, but I still get notifications from Outlook & calendar app. How to resolve this?
