Why is the calendar not responding? I go to the month of September and click on a day and nothing happens. Am I missing something here?

Seems like a glitch of some sort. Double tapping the date seems to work usually.

same for me except that some times it needs 4 or more taps.
Obviously a bug.
Not fixed in iOS 9.0.1

Hard to believe this one wasn't fixed during beta testing.
Seems like it's working fine in iOS 9.1 (based on some reports), so perhaps the fix was made and just went into that (code) branch instead of being merged into 9.0 that might not have been open for fixes other than of some critical or major nature.

Probably because it wasn't an issue in beta and is a new bug introduced in 9.0 release. I know for a fact it never done this for me during the whole beta process, but testing it right now I'm seeing the same behaviour of it requiring multiple taps.

My best guess is. Since 9.0 release included 3D Touch controls (I think they were mostly missing in beta to hide from people finding out) 3D Touch might be used in the calendar app and it's messing up non 3D Touch devices? That's just a wild guess though, I don't actually know if 3D Touch is used in calendar.

Noticed this in iOS 9.0 but, never got round to posting it on the forum.
Now on iOS 9.01 and one thing I did notice is, that you can double tap a date, (whilst in Month view) and it will open but, here's the weird thing, you can also single tap to open subsequent dates in month mode. Deffo a bug.

I find this bug particularly annoying. Not because it affects me but because it means that virtually no testing was done when this update was pushed. Did they conclude calendar app testing when it didn't crash after opening?

I wonder if this has something to do with 3D touch in the 6S? Since a double tap works fairly consistently it makes me thing its something to do with touch response written into the app.

Or perhaps they did find the issue but didn't resolve it in time for 9.0 (which they deemed was OK to go out with that issue in it) and made the fix for 9.1.

It certainly doesn't inspire confidence. If bugs are this easy to find for an average user and they aren't fixed before release what do you think skilled hackers or other software engineers with malicious intent going to be able to find?

There was already that passcode bypass EverythingApplePro highlighted less then a week after the release.

Plus side maybe the jailbreak community will find an exploit.

More or less how it's usually been really. That said, as I mentioned, it could be more of it not being fixed right away vs. not being found right away--it and other bugs could have been found some time ago but based on priorities and other factors simply didn't get fixed until a particular version. Happens with software, and in particularly complex software like an OS, quite often.
