I was wondering how people felt about the change Apple implemented with ios 14 on how you set the time for events.

i find it incredibly frustrating and cumbersome which before used to be very easy and straightforward.
Despite having had ios 14 installed from day one, I still struggle to create events to the point where I don’t want to even because it feels so weird to pick a time.
i cannot be the only one who finds this unnecessary difficult now to do.
Frankly speaking, the person responsible for that change deserves to be fired.

I find it easier to use and have no concerns about the change. I'd much prefer to type in the numbers than scroll through the time wheel.

ios and macOS behave cluncky for me. Sure they worked well in the lab but real life they tend to drag you down.

lots of delayed maintenance on ios and macOS standard apple applications
for example their spell checker is form the 1990's

good and bad:
get a 3rd party calandar app
eggs all in one apple basket likely bad for your web anonymity
some good apps are all going to subscription payments

I prefer just typing in the numbers to set a time, quicker and easier than the endless scrolling to do it.

There are a few discussions about it all in a few existing threads, for example:

But exactly my point. Not intuitive at all.
I tap the time and nothing happens. You then need to create muscle memory that you need to tap that time again so that the keyboard appears. Then you have to type 4 numbers correctly. If not you have to retype everything again.
No issue with typing but this implementation is just weird in my opinion and a step back.

I think many here are set in their ways and something new real gets on their user nerves. That is why we see so much push back from a feature that is actually easier and quicker to use.

True, I think there is some of that. But, I think some people like the older way better. Nothing wrong with that; we all have our preferences. It is too bad that Apple doesn't allow for more customization.

That is true. In many ways, I would like to see Apple offer option A and B. The problem with that is it can create bloated code which then leads to more bugs.
