Calendar widgets

I am enjoying the widgets with ios10.
I did notice that my calendar widget doesn't display anything unless the event is on the day of. Is this normal? If my next event wasn't until 3 days from now i hoped it would say so.

In the up next widget it displays my upcoming alarms, reminders AND calendar events which is good.

Anything I can do to fix the calendar widget?

I like the up next widget except you cannot select what you want displayed. I have an alarm set every weekday and that shows up in the up next at the top all the friggin time. Not a deal breaker, just annoying to see that alarm at the top of the list all the time. Wish I could get the today view back instead of only widgets.

I couldn't agree with you more. Actually, I've stopped using the calendar widget and just use the up next widget. The limited view of the calendar widget is not useful.

What is the expected behavior of Up Next? It shows a next day calendar event but if there's a Reminder set for today then it just shows that. Which duplicates the info in the Reminder widget. Is this a bug?

Use another calendar widget which actually does something. Fantastical is a great option, as is agenda+.

Today I downloaded the Agenda: Widget+ app. I'm very happy with it.
