My MobileMe - iPhone 3GS Calendar & Contacts syncing stopped working a couple of months ago. No reason & neither the Genius Bar nor MobileMe online support could fix it.

So that's my MobileMe subscription completely useless (I don't use it for anything else).

My Calendars have just reappeared on the iPhone for no discernible reason. Nice to have them back, but I'd like to know why they went away in the first place & have some assurance they're back to stay (I don't feel confident)

Contacts are still gone, though. I guess they may reappear at some point.

Over the last few years, I've had a few problems with MobileMe syncing, which to my mind is 'a few' too many - a service like this needs to feel bullet proof.

I'm an Apple fan, but by comparison, I've never had similar issues with either Gmail or Google Calendar, which makes them feel bullet proof.

Ah well ...

I have had the complete opposite experience. I have been using MobileMe for a year now and used gmail services for past eight years. Calendars, contacts, mail etc.

There has been at least 20 experiences at school this year where one of my google calendars did not load. Gmail no problems. Contacts did not sync correctly but manually updating the problem contacts was not a big deal.

Now with MobileMe, 0 problems. Never.

Sucks how these services can perform so poorly. Best of luck!
