Calender events disapper by itself

Hey,
I use the calender to organize my meetings. therefore i use the "recognize" function. Today i realized that my events popup on the lockscreen - like always - but they disappear after some time. So theyre not on the lockscreen any more.

As I unlock the phone and look at the calender the events are still there. What is that??

im using iphone 4 with ios 5.0.1

are they notifications? my calendar events show up in my notification area, but not on my lock screen unless theres a reminder set. and notifications for calendar events usually disappear from the notification area once they pass.
