I'm looking for a program that can adjust the brightness of the gamma values and which ideal setting can be saved as an .icc file that I can use as a color profile.
Currently I am using my own calibration (made with the OSX's color calibration tool under Preferences) in partnership with DarkAdapted.
I am perfectly satisfied with the results, but it bothers me that I have to run a program like DarkAdapted constantly to get the desired results, which uses a constant 0,09% CPU with the setting "refresh gamma values every 1 second" (it's not much but still...)
If I don't use DarkAdapted the screen is too bright, even at the lowest setting and the viewing angle isn't that good.
Without DarkAdapted looking at the screen from above or from the sides the white of a Finder window for instance turns blueish.
urmel has posted a very good color profile in the thread "Fix for the gradient issue... (not for graphics pro's)" which is almost ideal, but a bit too grey and too little contrast.
But it amazed me that his setting, made with ColorEyes, had the perfect brightness and the viewing angles were great as well, whites didn't turn into blue and all this without the need of a program like darkAdapted.
Now I tried to download a trial version of ColorEyes, but it didn't work.
I wasn't allowed ??
My question: are there any other calibration programs that allow you to alter the brightness and save the calibrations/profiles as an .icc file?
(and don't need to be run constantly and eat CPU like DarkAdapted, Shades and Brightness Control)
