My MBA is connected to a Thunderbolt Display with wifi turned off as I am using the wired connection. Furthermore I have wifi calling enabled for t-mobile.

This means call continuity should not work and it does not.

Does anyone know why wifi is required? My MBA is still connected to the same router. And even if I turn of wifi on the MBA then OS X would prefer wired automatically. Would that even make a difference?

Secondly, is it known why wifi calling must be turned off? I do like having it on in the house.

Thanks

It shouldn't matter if you're using WiFi or Ethernet as long as the MBA and the iPhone are connected to the same network.

This works fine for me on my iMac with Ethernet connection only.

Thanks for the feedback. ok so my culprit is the wifi calling feature being enabled. Bummer
