Call ends when I press the Power Button on my iPhone

Hey,

When i press the power button during a phone call in order to turn the screen off, my phone ends the call
Its so irritating, every time i want to turn the screen off, i press the side button and the call ends
How do i fix this issue?

Why do want to use the power button to turn of the screen during a phone call?

It depends where the audio is being played. If you're using the speaker or an external device such as AirPods, then pressing the side button turns the screen off. But if you're using the iPhone earpiece and the phone isn't next to your head, the call ends when you press the side button. The assumption is that if you take the phone away from your head and press the side button, you intend to finish the call. That's a fair assumption.

It was a learning curve for me also coming from android. Pressing the power button ended calls even via Telegram 🤣 sometimes I like to have the screen off when talking. Conserves power and such.
