Call for Duty 2 demo ?

I admit that I am new to games and only to Mac's for about a year. I have a Imac. I visit this forum often but just registered. I downloaded Call Fro Duty 2, have tried to open the demo and get nothing or at best I need to select a program to open with. So what am I doing wrong. I know some one has the answer to help. I have os 10.4.11.

What type of file is the download? .dmg? .sit? Or somehow randomly, .rar?

It is a sit. file.
