Call of Duty 4 broken

Call of Duty 4 appears not to want to boot anymore. It simply crashes on boot, both the single and multiplayers. I have tried re-installing and I have all the latest updates on the game. I'm currently running OS X 10.6.4.

Any thoughts/people with the same problem?

I just tried my install for the first time in probably around a year or so, and it still works.

But since I'm on a laptop, I have ensured that I do not need the original disc in my machine to play it, which I believe is within my full legal rights as a Swedish citizen.

Not sure that has anything to do with it though.
