So I bought and downloaded Call of Duty 4 off the Mac App Store last night, and it runs horribly. Going to be honest here, I pirated it a little while ago, while on Snow Leopard, to make sure it ran on my system before buying it. It ran fine, and I finished half the campaign. Now it runs horribly in single player and multiplayer. I turned the graphics as low as they can go, with a resolution of 8xx X 6xx or something similar, and got around 23 FPS in a small room in multiplayer, with it going to around 15 outside. Does anyone else have these kinds of problems? Any way to fix it? Thanks!

Lion is still glitchy. I think you just have to wait

I'm not a fanboy who can only play one game. CoD4 is a great game, and Battlefield 3 will be too. And besides, this Mac definitely couldn't run Battlefield 3, and I'm not sure if I want the PS3/360 version.

Works just fine on my Mac. Lion seems to have trouble on certain computers. New OS growing pains are so much fun huh?

Playing it a bit more, it might only be multiplayer that is effected. I was on a server with 2 other people, so pretty much no action happening, so that's not the cause. Why would multiplayer run so much worse? It really sucks, as I mainly bought it for the multiplayer.

EDIT: Okay, now it's running fine, that's weird. Also, is there any way to add "Call of Duty 4 Multiplayer" to Steam? The Mac App Store version has it all inside the one file, and there's no way to browse to it in Steam :\

You can go onto steam and go to GAMES at the top most menu and then add non steam game. Then you can launch it from your library and it should allow the steam overlay to work and show what game you are playing.

To get it to show up just the multiplayer part i dont think that is possible if it all runs out of one program.

What happens is, there is one CoD file, just called "Call of Duty 4". If I click "Show Package Contents", the multiplayer app is inside there. I can't find any way to get that app into Steam :\

Another question. How do I install the "Galactic Warfare" mod? It shows up in my mods list, but I can't select it. If I double click on it, it just restarts the normal multiplayer .
