does anybody know if a 2.4 GHz MB 4GB RAM intel X3100 will run COD4 in windows? i know there are PC's w/X3100 running COD4, so if any body has any info please post:apple:

The only problem about running high end games such as Call of Duty 4 on a macbook is the graphics card. The other specs are quite impressive for the size and price, but the graphics card is simply not good enough to run the game at its full potential.

You would have to run the game at low video settings and low resolution, but the game can be run.

Also I am sad to say that you can not upgrade the graphics card since it is intergraded.

thanks casielindberg that is the most straght forward answer i have gotten in the last three days of posting. have you run this game your self on the MB? what kind of framerates are you getting? what settings are you running? i realize that im not going to get the max potential out of the game, i was just trying to figure out if it could be done. also if you are playing it online are you experiencing any lag or drop in performance when there is a lot of action. thanks again:cool:

I haven't played Call of Duty 4 on a macbook, however I have been searching about the exact same question. Basically, if you run the game at minimum settings at 640X480 and you should average around 25 fps which isn't great. Also I would guess from experience that the performance would drop into a very choppy laggy state when there is alot of action.

In short, I would suggest in investing in a Macbook Pro if you want to play these high end games on a mac laptop, or wait until the next rev of macbooks comes out, or lastly, buying a PC gaming notebook or computer.

Go to this site http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APP...F2F2PHCCCX72KDY&mco=MTE3NjY&nclm=CertifiedMac if you would wish to buy a slighty cheaper macbook pro.

If you wish to see a video of what call of duty 4 looks like on a intel X3100 (not on a macbook just same graphics card), it would look like this, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEB-qNN5RKM
