Hello!

I have recently bought Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare v 1.7.549 through Mac App Store. My network setup is as follows:
ADSL-modem/router connected via ethernet cable to Time Capsule set in bridge mode, broadcasting wifi. I have around 15 Mbps down / 1,7 Mbps up.

I can set up a LAN game with a friend when we are on the same wifi-network, it works surprisingly fine on my MBP late 2010.
We can also join public servers via the lobby, and play together as co-op team against other players on the internet, as long as me and my friend are on the same network.

The problems begin when my friend is at home using his own wifi, and I am at home using mine:

1. When we click ”Refresh Servers” on our respective computers, we never get the same server list. We both get about 4000 hits, but not the same hits - even though our filter settings are identical. Hence, we cannot find, or join, the same server. Why is that? Is there a way to ”force” that we both use the same lists? (I am guessing that the 4000 hits we get are not by far the only servers running out there, it seems that we both only get a subset of all the servers maybe based on location - but we live only a few miles apart and still get different subsets)

2. When I try to host a game (not using the dedicated server option) the game starts and the match begins, but my server name does not show up in my friend´s lobby list - and vice versa. We cannot see each others servers over the internet, and cannot join each others games - and it is not a filter issue. I tried to port forward some ports in my router, among others 28960 TCP/UDP, and uPnP is enabled, but we still cannot find each other. What ports must be forwarded? Other reasons for this?

3. Some in-game console commands work, but none that are network related. So when I try /showip, to see my own ip, nothing happens.
Would this be my actual public ip, as can be found at www.whatismyip.org?

4. Console command /connect xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx does not work either, it does not connect to the multiplayer game at that ip address (which I got from the server list in the lobby, and which I successfully joined by clicking on it). Thererfor, we have no alternative way of connecting to each other via ip address, i.e. we can´t use the console to do this. Could this also be port/network related?

5. On the Playstation network, there is an option to add a specifik player as a favourite, and then be able to join whatever server he is on. This is not an option here, right?

Seems to me this could be some kind of router configuration issue, as everything works fine when we are on the same network, but I am stuck. There is not that much info on COD4 for Mac out there either. I would much appreciate any input here!
