Call of Duty 4 startup crash

Hello everyone - pls help
I bought CoD4 Modern Warfare from AppStore last night.

Downloaded, started it and ... it unexpectedly quits either if I skip the intro movie or if I wait for the intro movie to finish.

So actually I didn't even get to the screen where you can choose to play single or multi player. With the last sec of the intro movie it crashes.

When I try to open it again.. it suggest to open it in "safe mode".. but there is no difference.

I'm using MPB mid 2010, Intel Core i5, 2.53 GHz, 4 GB ram, NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M - which should be enough for the game.

Pls help this is extremely annoying .. thx..

p.s.
already tried fixing the permissions, giving everyone permission to read&write and reinstalling.

Is it crashing with a crash report dialog from OS X ? If so, can you post what's in the crash dialog here?

Have you checked Console.app to see if the game is reporting anything?
