I've just bought an iPhone SE to replace my aging 5S and am wishing I hadn't bothered. I can't use any of my earphones when I make a call because the person I am calling is hearing cracking and buzzing on the line, but I am not. I've updated to iOS 11.1. Is this an iOS issue or a known SE issue? Feeling very frustrated. Hope someone has a solution. Thanks, Carole

I haven’t had this issue with my SE, but it could also be a headphone mic issue or a headphone jack issue, but since you just bought the phone apple can either replace the phone for you if you have a receipt or you can take it in for repair and since this is a hardware issue from there end you wont be charged if you have the basic warranty coverage, I suggest visiting an apple store the next time you are free and getting it looked at! Not a normal issue but something that should be addressed easily by the Genius Bar folks

Thank you Shaarujon567 for your response. I was relieved to hear that it's not a known issue. I rebooted the phone a couple of times and now the issue seems to have resolved itself, thank goodness. It is always disappointing when a new phone/iOS makes things worse than before, like poor battery duration - which does seem to be a known issue, and one I have. I also had a problem with neither Apple Maps not Google Maps having sound, but I managed to resolve that myself. Very grateful to have this forum to come to when things go awry.
