ok i´m gonna try to describe this very weird problem ...
sometimes when somebody calls me they can hear their own voice ...
it kinda echos I guess
when I shake the phone it goes away :) sounds like a technical problem, but did somebody have this on his phone ? Is there an easy way to fix it ? I doesn´t always happen so it´s not that urgent but i´d still like it fixed

(I´m on a 1st gen iphone without the possibility to bring it or send it to apple)


I remeber having this problems with phones way back and then it seemed like it was the network, but this time shking helps so it can hardly be the network can it ? (Tmob in Germany)

I have the same problem sometimes.

It seems to only happen when the volume is turned all the way up.

Knock it down a couple of bars and it should go away.
 
thanks for the quick reply ... ! I didn´t think anybody else would even know about this :) I makes sense though It could have to do with the speaker interfering with the microphone ..., the microphone picking up sound from the speaker ...
 
Make sure the phone is pressed against your cheek. If you are holding it at an angle the sound can travel down to the mic.
 
I had the same issue with my 1st Gen Iphone. However, I only had the problem due to the rubber protector that I had bought. In other words, if you have some kind or protection on your phone take it off and try using it without it. 90% of the time its the cover you use to protect your iphone. My problem went away when I got rid of that rubber protector. I m not sure the name. Hope this helps.

I have a similar problem to yours, except I can hear myself echo in the background, which can be very annoying!
But usually a shake of the phone or a decrease in the volume will do the trick.
 
I don't use a cover, so that is not the issue.

I also know quite a few people that don't use a cover and have the same issue, and they all purchased the phone the day it came out.

It only happens when the volume is on the maximum setting, so it may be the way I hold the phone to my ear. It is most likely a loop between the microphone and speaker.

I bought it last year on June 29, when they were released, so there is no returning it now.

Anyway, I don't ever have the problem if I turn the volume down a bar or two.
 
yeah seems since i´ve turned to xolume down it didn´t happen anymore :-O
and again a sinple solution thanks to the forum :)

(I almost never use a cover so that wasn´t my problem )
