which model are you going to go for?

I'm undecided at the mo if I am even going to buy an iPad, but if I do, I will get the 64gb wifi version...pointless paying for 3g twice as I already have an iphone...

Now that my iPhone screen is going, I am undecided. Might get a new iPhone as it is more important than an iPad right now.

This is a very useless post, just saying... But if you must know I will probably get a 32gb

64GB WiFi for me. I was deciding on which to get, the 32GB 3G of the 64GB WiFi, but I decided I'll go for the WiFi one. Just because I'm going to get an iPhone 4th gen and I'll be using that for my 3G needs (Tweeting mostly). And if I wanted 3G on the iPad, I could always tether it.

if you can afford it buy the max model. 64GB and G3. it's 200 bucks more but you can never have too much memory.

and in germany you can get G3 data plans for 5 euros a day without subscription. i think it's a 2 day minimum or so. i will try it next week when I'm there.

I guess all european countries will soon have similar plans and then it's neat to have internet wherever you travel. it makes the ipad a lot more useful. also the gps in the g3 models is a big plus if you travel around. and of course the chance to remote wipe it if it gets stolen.

32gb 3G for me. Won't be putting music on it so 32gb is ample for podcasts, apps and some video.

It's 3G.

I'm getting a 16GB Wifi-only and a 64GB Wifi-only.

I really am stuck on which model to get. 32gb im fairy sure of. Films and tv programmes is good when im on lunch break at work in the car. But whether to get 3g? Really all I want it for is the ability to get news and update my blog and twitter at work. But the thing of being tied to a contract is something Ive never done, and I dont like the idea of paying £30 just for the network. But if I go abroad or anywhere, it would be great for filling in time or research. Hmmm. Probably gonna sell my itouch, buy a classic and just use the ipad for twitter and newsfeeds.

Do you need to be tied to a contract in the UK? You don't for the U.S. version with 3g. You can start or stop it any time you like with no penalty.

I think most people are more likely to wish they had 3g than to wish they had greater capacity.

I am undecided. I also need a new macbook and my iphone is disintegrating so I don't want to spend vast amounts. Also I don't want to commit to the 3g version without knowing what the data plans are on o2 and vodafone. I think the 32gb wifi is what I will probably end up getting.

Also the 3g is the UK is far more sketchy than in the US. I get regular drop outs from 5 bars. O2's data network is rubbish and keeps going down. However I regularly find myself out of range of wifi.

I've got the 32gb 3g as these seem to suffer less wifi dropouts than the 64gb version. Tbh tho I think I might order the 64gb 3g tomorrow.

After speaking to o2 the phone networks will be offering an ipad sim for £5 via there stores and the carphonewarehouse so anyone with a us model won't have an issue.

I dont know the details, I just hate contracts haha.

No contract I think, but Orange UK's plans seem rather meh to me. I wouldn't use the 3G much on the iPad so WiFi wouldn't be a problem for me I hope.

I'm getting the 64GB 3G version. Hoping to also pre-order some other goodies, like the camera connection kit, maybe the Apple case and another charger.

Neil.

My Macbook Pro is still pretty new, so shouldn't need updated for a while. I really should upgrade the iPhone when the new comes out, as I'm STILL using the 3G... But I have no problems with it. It still works perfectly, it's in excellent condition, and it does everything I need it to. Looking at the announced features of OS 4.0 (which mostly won't be working on the iPhone 3G), I don't desperately need those features, but my life will be much easier with the iPad. I travel a lot, I enjoy films, games, reading, blogging... A few months ago I would have said I wanted the new iPhone rather than the iPad, but I'm going to hold off on a new phone. If my iPhone 3G was playing up or something then that would be a different matter.

32Gb Wifi Only for me.

I will have no need for 64Gb as I can hardly fill an 8gb ipod touch and the extra £70 over 16Gb seems worth it.

I will not be interested in the 3g since I don't use it much on my phone. I expect to mostly use the ipad about the house or within wifi areas.

I don't know whether to get the 16gb wifi+3G, 32GB Wifi only or 32GB wifi+3G...

I can technically afford the £600 one, but i don't know if I can justify it to myself, especially when I can tether/MiFi.

Although, I'm really only paying £50 more for 3G built in, since the MiFi cost £50, and I should still be able to return it...

Are the only real benefits of having the 3G version simply that a) it's built in, and b) you have GPS?

Is there any need for GPS if you already have it on your phone?

32GB wifi is the sweet spot for me. I dont think I need the 3G one since its not going to leave my house very often, and I have my iPhone 2g for extremely slow web/map browsing.

32GB wifi. Just jb'ed my 3GS so I can use MyWi for the rare times I'll need net without wifi access.

Plus dock and camera connection kit.
