Looks like a group of people made a Sonic Fan Remix.

I'm not sure if has been posted before but they actually have a mac version.

Awesome. I tried this on Windows via VMWare Fusion when this first came out. It worked and was playable, but a bit jumpy. Can't wait to try it natively.

Wow just installed it, and on my MBP running on the highest settings, this game looks and plays fantastically. Honestly I think I had more fun playing these three stages than I did playing all of Sonic 4. And the B&W version is really cool too.
