Has anyone had this problem? I saw it was a bug someone mentioned in beta 7, but I’m having it on the release.

Calls don’t even show up in recents, but someone can leave a voicemail. I can call outbound just fine. The calls seem to reach my device just fine as I can see them in my Verizon call filter (which I’ve since deleted as part of troubleshooting). As such, I do not believe it is a carrier issue.

No, do not disturb isn’t enabled 😂

Funny you should mention it. Just got a voicemail announcement without the phone ringing a couple hours ago. I was sitting by the phone at the time and was surprised to hear the voicemail announcement since the phone never rang. When I called the caller back, she said the call had gone straight to voicemail as if I had been off network.

My carrier Tmobile has a weak signal here (between one and two bars) so it is possible I was indeed off network but other calls came through with the phone in exactly the same location (in the charge stand).

Like the OP, I am not set to block calls that are not in my contacts. And in this case, the caller actually WAS in my contacts.

Just in case, I turned WiFi calling back on. I normally keep it off because I tend to get dropped calls if I walk around the house while on a call..... always assumed that was because I have a mesh network and it was switching routers?

I imagine mine has been been broken since the update.

I just activated a trial number on a the second eSIM and it works fine, though? What the heck…

I am in a support chat with my carrier (Verizon) to rule that out. Since the secondary trial eSIM rang just fine, I’m growing skeptical that this is an iOS 18.1 problem after all.

I have no good explanation for this, but will leave it here in case anyone else runs into this.

For some reason, deleting the secondary eSIM and rebooting my phone for the 8283th time actually resolved the issue on the primary eSIM. Call flow is working again 🤷‍♂️

I installed ios 18.1 on iphone 13 on October 28 and immediately all calls began going straight to voicemail. No ring. I called Verizon support a few times with no success. After reading some other blogs and tech rooms, came across a thread on Live Voicemail after install of 18.1.

All other functions of the phone were working properly. All texts, notifications, etc. Only feature of phone not working was incoming calls.

Steps followed:

Settings
Apps
Phone
Live Voicemail (toggle OFF)
Power down phone
Power on phone
Calls incoming properly
Toggle Live Voicemail ON
Calls incoming properly

I have the same problems with receiving phone calls and dropped calls since I installed iOS 18.1. But in my country we don’t have live voicemail and no toggle for it either.

Not exactly the same thing, but when I get a potential spam call my Apple Watch will vibrate for a second like it’s ringing, but nothing on the screen. No notification on phone or watch. Then a minute or two later I get the voicemail notification. I like the idea of spam calls being filtered out, but some notification of the incoming call would make sense.

I have the same issue, but the disable live voicemail, restart phone, reenable live voicemail procedure did not work for me so mileage may vary…

iPhone 16 Pro on Verizon…

For now, I am keeping live voicemail disabled.

Wait, that could be your problem. I had carrier spam filtering enabled and having similar problems. Just deleting the app isn't enough unless you follow their uninstall directions. I had to call support and have them disable it on their end because I didn't do the proper steps.
