Hello all,

In the past few months I developed and released Callthentic for iOS. It is an app to stop spam calls but the approach is rather different than most. It doesn’t rely on a block list, as the handling is triggered by your iPhone contact logic.

As many know, Apple introduced the Silence Unknown Callers feature in iOS 13. This feature is great but it has a couple of drawbacks. What happens if you get a call from your doctor’s office which isn’t in your contacts? It goes to VM. So will every other call not in your contacts.

Our app takes over once the call has been silenced. Instead of going to VM, we challenge the caller for a code. If the code isn’t entered, the call is dropped. If the code is entered, it obviously a human so the call is presented to you. This gives legit unknown callers a chance to reach you. Calls from your contacts are handled normally as a regular native call.

You receive notifications when a call is diverted. We provide the voicemail service for any unanswered legit calls, and automatically transcribe the voicemail for you via SMS. You can customize your voicemail greetings as well as the message stated to unknown callers.

We offer a 7 day trial, followed by a $3.99 monthly subscription.

Here is the app store link: Callthentic
