Got a new camcorder that produces .mod files. These can be renamed to .mpg without a problem.

What I am looking for is some type of software that is user friendly for editing then burning to DVD. The software that comes with it is useless and iDVD wont recognise either format.

try converting to .mpeg, .mp4 or .mov.....all of which iDVD should recognize :)

I was missing the mpg codec for quicktime in the end but iDVD still wont open the mpg file :(
Shame because it looks like it would do just what I need.

The software I have on the PC is Called Cyberlink PowerProducer/Director :

http://www.cyberlink.com/multi/products/main_4_ENU.html

Whats a good MAC equivalent.

Basically it lets you load in MPG clips that you can drag and drop onto a timeline. Then you can drag and drop titles, transitions etc... And Im looking for something like that.

Thanks for the suggestion of the converter although it does work its going to make it a tedious process converting 4gb+ files, then edit them in iDVD then wait for that to process them again for burning.

Any help appreciated.
