Wanted to see if this was just me or not. I recently went from a 3rd gen iPad Pro 12.9" to the M1. On previous Zoom calls, even when using the iPad in landscape, I was fairly centered. Yes, I know that because the camera is on the top of the iPad that I would never get the perfect angle, but I used to be centered on Zoom and never had any problems with it.

On my M1 iPad, I had the same experience... until recently. Somehow, and without changing any settings on my iPad or Zoom, the camera angle is suddenly severely offset. Whereas I was previously fairly centered, I suddenly am now in the right 2/3 of the iPad and my eyes are no longer centered as well. It's as if I'm 6 inches offset to my iPad now as opposed to sitting directly in front of it. I'm not sure if it was a Zoom update or something, but it just happened out of the blue.

I've been searching all over the internet for possible reasons why the sudden change but I have nothing.

Has this happened to anyone else here? I never really took self-portrait videos on my iPad or used FaceTime on it, so I can't compare if this offset angle was always there on other applications with the camera. Thanks in advance~

Might have something to do with the new 'center stage' feature which is supposed to track you and keep you centered.

That was my initial thought too. I had Center Stage on in the beginning just to try it. Gimmicky, but fun to use in the beginning. I then turned it off because I didn't want the camera constantly adjusting to every single little movement.

Now, I can't get myself centered UNLESS I use Center Stage. I did try restarting my iPad but that didn't work. Maybe the next step is to reset the iPad?

I still fairly centered when on Zoom with my iPP, so I can’t relate. But I’ve noticed that center stage zooms way more on my face that what it should (I don’t even see my shoulder, and it looks weird). I would hope that we can customize that but knowing Apple it’s not coming anytime soon

Yes, that was me too. I was fairly centered (not perfect, but very acceptable) on my Zoom calls. Now, I can't center myself unless I angle my iPad and move it like 6 inches off-center to where I am. I've been trying to fiddle with the Zoom options but there aren't that many to work with on the iPad.

And it's not just on Zoom, but on my regular camera settings, I'm also off-centered to the same degree as Zoom. I'm wondering if the physical camera is moved and/or off-centered as well

Yes it has happened to me! Had no problems until I went to face time and saw the center stage feature.
Now it is completely different the angle (just what you said), reseting might help but who knows…

I'm hoping that this becomes an update... I would hate to reset it every time Center Stage is activated...
