Aside from the stock camera app, what other camera apps do you guys recommend for easy use (amateurs) and great photos.
So far I heard of Obscura 2, Camera + 2, or Procamera.. any of those or others you folks recommend?

I use and I do recommend ProCamera: easy to use and with nice functionalities available (some of them at a charge).

I have been using Camera+ since 2012 and just upgraded to +2 . Haven’t used the newer version on m y 11Pro yet,but the previous version has worked flawlessly.

Halide and ProCamera both shoot RAW. I've been using ProCamera for a few years. Tried some others, but always come back to ProCamera. Halide is nice and simple but offers no editing.

Thanks, I would probably want to use Lightroom/photoshop on my Mac for editing, but also nice to have on the phone... how do you download the raws onto the Mac? Where on the phone are they stored? Can photos app display them?

Lightroom mobile offers a camera mode that can shoot RAW, and editing as well. There’s a free tier and if you have a subscription there’s no reason not to try it. Note that the camera currently doesn’t support the ultra wide angle lens yet, but I’d expect it soon.

I haven't tried to transfer the raw files to my Mac. I usually edit them in what ever app I'm using on the iPhone. Photos app will display the jpeg only as far as I know. You'd need a more advanced app to access them.

It doesn't appear that Camera+ 2 has compatibility for the iPhone 11 series yet; I used to love the previous version of the app (now called Camera+ Legacy).

Camera+2 Compatibility website

I'm considering it, but probably won't buy until it specifically supports the new phones.

It surprises me that even Lightroom doesn't yet support all iPhone 11 cameras.

I do not like how ProCamera charges a rather premium app price (7.99), and then charges lots more for basics such as long exposures, HDR, etc. and even subscriptions.

I just say No to that kind of developer.

Sometimes we have to pay for good software.

You are right, stillcrazyman, we do - and I do. However:

I think it makes more sense for ProCamera to rip out and charge for some of its more value-added base features such as the iCloud-integrated photo albums, album selector, 3D Tiltmeter, gray card calibration, rather than charge extra for things (long exposures, HDR, etc.) that are included with every other of the multitudes of camera apps.

But that's ProCamera's decision to make, and it's my freedom to choose. I've been perfectly happy for years with Apple stock camera app (which has become pretty powerful) and the fantastic Camera+ app in the past - chances are I'll vote my dollars for Camera+ 2 once an update comes to fully support the iPhone 11 series.
