I kinda like the filters that Instagram has for photos, but I don't want Instagram. are there any cool camera apps or tweaks out there you guys can recommend? thanks

I think there is an app called PhotoFilter that adds filters to the stock camera, check cydia

I had PhotoFilter. It's a nice idea, but the WHOLE picture was blurred every time you added an effect/saved it.

I'm not sure if it's a glitch (I think it is, because the blur looked horrible, like a foggy bathroom mirror), but I deleted it.

I would just stick with apps that let you tweak for photos after you take them, plenty in the app store.

There are thousands of photo editing apps on the iPhone\iPad. It's silly to filter them real time, as it's not a real filter, it's a layer\adjustment. You should just take the high res photos and then use an app to edit then save so you have the original and then the tweaked version. Often photos don't look as good on a computer screen or in print as you thought they did on the phone, so might as well back it up just in case.

Hope I'm not violating MR's TOS by posting, but since you asked, our app Imprints just got an update, adding photo filters. A few have a passing resemblance to other filters you might have seen, but most of ours were designed to be fresh and unique. Comes with two for free, the rest are available in a pack. It has the usual sharing options available.

As for a stock app, I suggest 'Snapseed'.

I've loved it. Had it ever since it was $4.99. It's free now, since they're partnered with Google or something. My favorite photo editing app by far.
